Learning At GRJIS

At GRJIS, every young learner is a winner. We are focussed on enabling growth for all our learners. To achieve this, we have developed a specialized Diagnosis Test; which is not a typical entrance exam, but is a mechanism through which a learner’s current academic standing is analyzed.

For the analysis, we have set four parameters in the form of colour codes viz. Yellow, Orange, Green, and Pink

Here, students scoring less than 50% marks are encouraged to take up a retest (second diagnosis) after being subject to thorough revision and support by the respective subject faculty.

This is done through personalized mentoring, and to ensure that the student scales up to the Orange band in the next round of diagnosis.

Here, our key focus is to ensure that students scale up one step at a time and gradually get to the Pink band where they are in a position to excel in their Academics.

Diagnostic Parameters

Upon diagnosis of a learner, we place them in these bands on the results of their performance in the test:

Academic Structure At GRJIS

GRJIS Core Programme

Guru Rajendra Jain International School is affiliated to both the National Board – CBSE and International Board Cambridge Assessment (proposed). At the Preparatory Stage (for Grade IV and V) and Middle school, we follow an interdisciplinary approach where students learn the national curriculum in depth and seamlessly progress towards the international curriculum; thereby deriving the best of learning from both worlds.

During the onset of Secondary Schooling (Grade IX), students make an informed choice between CBSE and Cambridge assessment through multiple expert consultations and counseling for their board of education at both secondary and Sr. Secondary levels.

Integration of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTs)

At GRJIS, the curriculum offers continuous and constructive challenges for students from a young age to test the tenacity of their cognitive ability. Every student at GRJIS prepares themselves for application, analysis, judgment and evaluation.

Opening the horizon of this unmatched dimension of learning makes an Emeraldian stand apart. At this juncture, our specialized Individual Progress Plan (IPP) is a benchmark programme to support the uniqueness of every child.

Individual Progression Plan (IPP)

Continued improvement of learning excellence is very individualistic and an inward process at GRJIS. Students take their holistic and individual learning to the next level by engaging and reflecting upon their learning through a specialized guiding process with teachers/mentors. This is a cycle of four weeks of action and support with clear, measurable and achievable individual goals. Our students also practice the art of ‘KAIZEN’, for continued improvement and thereby making it a habit for life.

Academic Support

GRJIS takes pride in its dedication to meeting all students' learning needs, irrespective of these requirements being to help students for academic success or preparing them to complete additional challenges.

At GRJIS, every student works closely with their expert Academic Coach to ensure creation of a monthly action plan and set goals for academic improvement. We also take great pride in watching our students flourish at GRJIS and realize their academic goals; after having been nurtured to reach their full potential at a learning environment crafted specifically to their individual talents.

The Academic Coaching Program, at GRJIS, was set up to help students facing trouble being as productive as they could be during evening study hours. Students in the Academic Coaching Program study in classrooms with the help of an Academic Learning Coach in the evening prep hours. The Academic Coach is a person who is very dedicated to getting to understand individual students’ learning needs.

He or she is in charge of keeping an eye on each student's log, helping them organize their time and materials while they study, changing their focus when they need to, and teaching them general study skills. Mostly, an Academic Coach works with no more than five students in a single classroom.

This study arrangement has improved learning for students requiring additional support.. Participating students testify to the fact of being able to manage their workload through close association with an expert Academic Coach.
